ZipRescue will develop and write your site-specific ANSI B77 evacuation plan, customize a state-of-the-art equipment program for your team, provide in-person training on evacuation techniques, equipment use and best practices and serve as the onsite liaison for the required evacuation demonstration for new lift installations. ZipRescue provides start-to-finish lift evacuation services, ensuring your evacuation teams operate at the highest levels of compliance, efficiency, and safety.

ANSI B77 Standard for Lift Evacuation, Section 4.3.2.5.7 states:

“The owner of each aerial lift shall submit to the Commissioner a detailed written plan for evacuation of passengers from cabins or carriers in the event of a power failure or breakdown. The procedures set forth in the evacuation plan shall be tested, at any location on the lift, in the presence of the Commissioner at their request.” In addition to the written evacuation plan that addresses subsections A-M, “provisions must be provided for adequate training in the functions performed in the evacuation process at least once each operating season.”

Customized ANSI B77 Evacuation Plan

Whether your aerial tramway or gondola is a new installation or has been running for years, having a current ANSI B77 evacuation plan and a well-trained team using the latest equipment and rescue techniques are essential and required elements of a safe and compliant operation. Our lift evacuation training program incorporates all these elements into a comprehensive, site-specific and personalized course by top instructors in the industry to assure you have the best ANSI B77 evacuation plan and rescue team for your operation. Our team evaluates your aerial lift specifications and customizes a written, site-specific B77 Evacuation Plan, which is then shared as a collaborative document.

Adapting to Year-Round Operations

Many existing gondola operators have based their evacuation plan on winter ski season criteria but as more resorts are expanding their operations to summer use by foot passengers, a whole new set of criteria is required, and excellent solutions are available. Additionally, there is an increase in new installations built specifically for foot passenger use. Our training program addresses the ANSI B77 evacuation criteria in the new section M regarding foot passengers to assure you can provide an evacuation for all your customers, regardless of age, size or disabilities.

Comprehensive Lift Evacuation Training

Every gondola–aerial lift presents a unique situation that requires a custom approach to developing an appropriate evacuation plan: considering variables such as the structure, the cabins, the terrain, the best equipment choices, the prior experience level of team members and the diversity of passengers. Our training program begins with a site survey that allows us to customize the absolute best solutions for your unique installation and customers and concludes with your team being able to safely run full evacuation scenarios.
